I'm Vanesha Pinney, a children's book author with a soft spot for the small, the overlooked, and the wonderfully weird. I write playful yet nurturing books for curious young readers, and the grown-ups who love reading to them.

 

I've been writing for over 12 years, and what has always driven me is a belief that children's books can do more than entertain. They can teach kids to notice things, to ask questions, and to find wonder in a world that doesn't always slow down long enough to show it to them. My stories are designed to spark those moments, the giggles, the wide eyes, and the "wait, really?" questions that make storytime something a child actually remembers.

 

I write about the creatures, the corners, and the curiosities that most books skip right past, because the things we overlook are often the most fascinating of all. Whether it's bedtime, classroom time, or curled-up-on-the-couch time, my books are written to be read together. Because the best stories aren't just told, they're shared.
